Academics have studied how fashion constructs and disrupts gender identity, but they have largely overlooked the influence of men’s everyday clothing choices on masculinity in the twenty-first century. Refashioning Masculinity develops a new framework for understanding men’s gendered identities by expanding theoretical, empirical and methodological knowledge. By combining interdisciplinary theories, using fashion as a research context and innovating a new methodological approach, our research contributes to new understandings, including:
- How can interviews, object analysis and the arts uncover new insights about gender?
- How can combining gender, business and fashion studies develop new frameworks?
